Emergency Care for Community Nurses Course

OVERVIEW
This course focuses on the competencies required for Northern Community Remote Nursing Practice. Key content areas are: history and physical assessment, advanced clinical reasoning, informed judgment and pharmacotherapeutics in the management of specified urgent and emergent health conditions. Patient management, interdisciplinary communication and preparation for transportation are also presented. Content and course evaluation are based on a body-systems approach and will include patient’s infant through adult. Extensive hands on practice in the simulated clinical environments is utilized throughout the program Upon successful completion students will receive a completion certificate

First Responder /EMR Course Description
Prehospital care and CPR skills for professional first responders or those wanting to become first responders. Course teaches techniques for sustaining life, preventing further injuries, and caring for illnesses and injuries until the next level of medical personnel arrives. Includes CPR level HCP and AED
The First Responder Course is also the first 40 hours of the EMR program.
